DANNELLY RECOGNIZED FOR TOP CORN YIELD

COLUMBIA, SC…Al Dannelly of Cope, SC, was recently recognized by the SC Young Farmer and Agribusiness Association as the State Champion Irrigated Corn Producer in 2009, according to John W. Parris, state director of public affairs for the organization.

Mr. Dannelly, a member of the Edisto Young Farmer and Agribusiness Chapter, received an engraved plaque and a cash award from the Pioneer Hybrid International and Monsanto Company for producing 264.627 bushels per acre using the Pioneer 33 M57 variety.

Barry Hawkins, Agricultural Education instructor at Edisto High School, serves as the professional advisor to the local Young Farmer and Agribusiness organization.
