Mindy Sandifer congratulates Stevie Still on receiving Agribusiness Award.STILL RECEIVES REGION AGRIBUSINESS AWARD
COLUMBIA, SC…Stevie Still of Barnwell, SC, was recently recognized as owner of the Outstanding Agribusiness in the Lower-State Region by the SC Young Farmer and Agribusiness Association, according to John W. Parris, state director of public affairs with the organization. “Mr. Still was presented an engraved plaque and a cash award by the Pee Dee Federal Savings Bank who sponsors the recognition program in concert with the state adult agricultural education organization,” Mr. Parris said.
Mr. Still became involved in agribusiness full time when he purchased Collins Fertilizer Company in 2003. He has computerized all of the billing procedures and blending of fertilizers. In order to keep better records, he uses “Form U Share” Computer software. Initially, the business offered only liquid fertilizer but has recently added a dry blend plant, a fertilizer warehouse, two new spreader trucks and upgraded existing trucks.
An outstanding agricultural leader, Mr. Still serves on the Barnwell County Farm Bureau Board of Directors, president of the SC Fruit, Vegetable and Specialty Crop Association, president of the Blackville Marketing Authority, a member of the Barnwell County Career Center Agricultural Education Advisory Board and an active member of the Barnwell County Young Farmer and Agribusiness Chapter.
Mindy Sandifer, Agricultural Education instructor at the Center, serves as the professional advisor to the local Young Farmer and Agribusiness group.
