TOLSON NAMED OUTSTANDING YOUNG FARMER-AGRIBUSINESS
ADVISOR IN SOUTH CAROLINA

COLUMBIA, SC….Beth W. Tolson, agricultural education instructor at the Lee County Career and Technology Center in Bishopville, SC, has been named the Outstanding Young Farmer-Agribusiness Advisor in South Carolina for 2010 by the SC Young Farmer and Agribusiness Association, according to John W. Parris, state director of public affairs with the organization.

The daughter of Andy and Connie Whisenhunt of Orangeburg, Mrs. Tolson is a graduate of Edisto High School where she was an active member of the FFA.

“Mrs. Tolson continues to demonstrate outstanding leadership as an agricultural educator and is most deserving of this prestigious honor,” Parris said.

A graduate of Clemson University with a BS degree and MS in Agricultural Education, Mrs. Tolson is a member of the South Carolina and National Association of Agricultural Educators. She has been teaching for six years.

Mrs. Tolson has previously been recognized as the Outstanding Young Farmer-Agribusiness advisor in the Pee Dee region and Teacher of the Year at Lee Central High School. She is married to Chesterfield native and FFA alumnus J. T. Tolson.

The award is sponsored by Learning Labs, Inc., as a special project of the SC Young Farmer-Agribusiness Association.
