The Piedmont Region Tractor Operators Contest and Tool ID Contest will be held Monday, January 31 at Crescent High School.
The Tool ID will begin at 4:00 p.m. in the agriculture department. Please refer to the details as posted on the SC Ag Ed Web page. Be sure to use the recent North Carolina Tool ID booklet as provided at the 2004 summer conference. Plumbing fittings, hardware, and items other than tools are found in that booklet and fair game on the contest. Each FFA Chapter may bring one team consisting of 4 FFA members. The top three placing chapters will advance to the state event in February. In the event of a tie, the teams involved in the tie will be provided a tie-breaking problem. There will be no tie-breakers for individual scores. I will be requesting you to register your members soon.
The Tractor Operators event will begin at 2:45 p.m. Those chapters who can come at this time will be permitted to begin and complete the course. Other chapters coming from further away will compete as they arrive. I will be requesting you to register your team soon and provide a time when you can arrive. Each chapter may bring one team consisting of a maximum of 4 individual FFA members. The event will be conducted rain or shine. Be sure to cover adequate safety procedures, the course layout, and score sheet. The top three chapters will advance to the state event in February.
