FFA Wildlife Management CDE

The following subjects will be on the Wildlife CDE this year.

Individual

1. Written Test – 50 questions – a few questions on wetlands will be added this year.

2. The students will have to identify a maximum of 30 plants utilized by wildlife for food and cover.

TEAM

1. The students will have to use the maps in a soil survey to locate areas and determine the value of land for wildlife management.

2. The students will have to make a few antler measurements on deer racks using the Boone-Crocket scale. The whole antler will not have to be scored.

3. The students will have to age deer jawbones.

4. The students will have to age and sex turkeys.

5. The students will have to identify a maximum of 30 total wildlife tracks, fur mounted animals, pictures, equipment, traps and maybe a few live snakes. Aging and sexing of Quail.
