The FFA Dairy CDE will consist of:
- Judging 2 heifer and 2 cow classes - oral reasons on 2 cow classes
- Multiple choice test - questions from 2010-2011 Holstein Dairy Bowl practice questions -

- Team event - Students participating in the FFA CDE team event will compete in pedigree reading and sire selection activities.
-- Pedigree Class - Students will be asked to evaluate a set of 4 pedigrees and rank the animals based on their ability to pass superior production and type traits to their offspring. This exercise will be worth 50 points.
-- Sire Selection Classes - The sire selection activity will consist of two classes. In each class, students will receive information on one cow and four sire summaries. They will be asked to perform corrective matings based production traits and linear type trait information. Students should rank the four potential mates.
