William Amick
State Vice President
Will is from Lexington, S.C. and is a member of the Lexington Technology Center FFA Chapter. He is the son of Blake and Dell Amick and has two sisters, Mary Dell and Sarah Caroline.
He enjoys being a member of FFA because its wide range of experiences, friendships, knowledge and leadership skills to learn. His SAE was an Agriculture Entrepreneurship in Landscaping. Will owns a landscaping company. He feels that his most important accomplishments were becoming a state officer, achieving his Eagle Scout status and being recognized as "Student of the Year." As his lasting contribution to the S.C. FFA program, he wants to give back to SC FFA and to encourage its members to take advantage of all of the available opportunities to develop leadership skills and to have all of the experiences that he has had.
Will says that the most valuable lesson that he has learned from his Agriculture teacher, Tommy Harmon, is to learn all that you can, set a good example, and to promote and teach through leadership.
His favorite type of food is steak. The last movie that he saw was Strangers and his favorite movie was Ocean's 11. If you picked up his iPod, you would find it filled with country, rap, and rock music. The last book that he read was Portable Pep Talk .
Will's future plans are to have a successful year as a state officers and to attend either Abraham Baldwin Agricultural College or Clemson University to obtain an agriculture degree. He wants to reopen his landscaping business or to be employed by an equipment company.
